Job Description
Lincoln Park is a fast paced bakery looking for a skilled cake decorator to join our team. We specialize in buttercream icing and decorations. Job is 30+ hours a week. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Primary Tasks:
- building and assembling cakes with fillings and icings
- decorating cakes with buttercream according to house standards and to fit customer’s custom order requests
- draw cake decorations free hand with buttercream
Secondary Tasks:
- coloring buttercream, making sprinkle mixes, light cleaning
- writing on cakes
Skills and Requirements:
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 30+lbs
- Must be able to work daytime and weekend hours
- Must have at least 1 year cake decorating experience in a professional kitchen
- Culinary school graduate preferred
- Effective time management skills are a plus
- Ability to think on your feet, as well as independent problem solving skills are a plus
- Work well in a team
- Must be State of Illinois & City of Chicago Food Handler Certified (ANSI Accredit)
- Must have basic HACCP knowledge
