Funeral Home in Charge

This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected organization in the funeral services industry. As a Funeral Director in Charge (location manager) , you will play a vital role in overseeing daily operational activities, ensuring the highest quality of service for client families, and fostering a positive work environment.

Funeral Director in Charge Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in funeral services.
  • Valid Funeral Directors’ License in Ohio and/or Michigan, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • Completion of a two-year college degree or specialized course of study.
  • Passing both sections of the National Board Exam (NBE) as per state requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with management and staff.

Funeral Director in Charge Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in administrative and operational management within the funeral industry.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and ethical standards in funeral services.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of licensed professionals.

Funeral Director in Charge Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate core values of excellence, trust, care, and growth in all aspects of the role.
  • Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise staff scheduling to ensure adequate personnel for client arrangements and services.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching for team members.
  • Oversee the quality of products and services, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Engage in community outreach and marketing activities to promote the funeral home.
