This position is for a Board-certified Internal Medicine Physician with academic medicine experience to join Providence Portland Medical Center's Internal Medicine Residency Program. The role combines clinical care, primarily outpatient primary care and resident precepting, with faculty duties including teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly activities. Providence Portland Medical Center Department of Medical Education is seeking an exceptional General Internist to join the Providence Portland Internal Medicine Residency Program in a mixed faculty/clinical role. This department is made up of a collaborative group of clinician educators who are passionate about training the next generation of physicians. The program of 31 residents and 14 core clinician-educator faculty emphasize mentorship, role modeling, and rigorous clinical experiences that balance clinical exposure in a variety of settings (including outpatient medicine, inpatient medicine, and subspecialties) with an understanding of a patient-centered care model, evidence-based medicine, and a focus on quality improvement. Additionally, the department hosts medical students from Oregon Health & Science University and Washington State University on core rotations each month.
