Job Title: Journeyman Conduit Installer (Low Voltage Controls)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Conduit Installer skilled in the installation of " to 1" EMT and rigid conduit, including bending, threading, routing, and mounting for low-voltage control systems. The ideal candidate is productive, reliable, safety-focused, and capable of delivering clean, code-compliant conduit installations with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Install " and 1" EMT and rigid conduit for low-voltage control systems.
- Perform accurate measurements, cuts, offsets, kicks, and bends using appropriate tools.
- Thread rigid conduit using manual or power threading equipment; ensure clean, accurate threads.
- Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and site conditions to determine conduit routing.
- Install hangers, strut, supports, anchors, and hardware for secure mounting.
- Coordinate paths and elevations with other trades to avoid conflicts and maintain clean routing.
- Complete conduit stub-ups, box installs, and pull points to support low-voltage cabling.
- Maintain a clean, professional installation appearance with consistent alignment and craftsmanship.
- Follow all jobsite safety requirements and company installation standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years experience installing EMT and rigid conduit (" to 1").
- Strong competency in bending, threading, layout, and routing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and detail drawings.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage conduit requirements (access control, CCTV, BAS, fire alarm, etc.).
- Ability to work independently, productively, and with minimal supervision.
- Must have personal hand tools and a cordless power drill suitable for conduit and low-voltage installation tasks.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to worksites.
- Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating with electrical, HVAC, and general construction trades.
- Familiarity with NEC conduit standards and low-voltage best practices.
- Ability to lead small teams or mentor junior installers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, use lifts, and work overhead.
- Capable of standing, bending, and working in tight spaces as required.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
