We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Ridgefield, Connecticut. In this role, you will focus on accurately posting payments and ensuring billing processes run smoothly within a healthcare setting. This position, lasting 4–5 months, offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in medical billing and insurance reconciliation.

Responsibilities:
• Accurately record insurance and patient payments in the practice management system.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving underpaid claims and contracted rates.
• Reconcile daily payment batches to maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and submit appeals for claims when necessary.
• Analyze explanation of benefits (EOBs) and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) to ensure correct payment posting.
• Assist with additional billing-related tasks as assigned by management.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during all billing activities.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize billing workflows and processes.• Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing or payment posting.
• Familiarity with third-party payors, deductibles, copays, and insurance processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOBs) and electronic remittance advices (ERAs).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payment posting.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for internal and external interactions.
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience with billing systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of medical billing workflows and coding principles is required.
