As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Ambulatory OB/GYN department, you will provide and coordinate nursing care in a non-acute medical office setting. Your role supports Prisma Health's commitment to quality care, aligning with professional standards, state regulations, and our organizational policies.

Job Summary

In this position, you will deliver direct nursing care tailored to meet each patient's unique health needs, including their physical, emotional, cultural, and educational requirements. Your expertise will contribute to patient wellness and education in a compassionate environment.

Essential Functions

• Deliver direct nursing care according to established procedures and regulations.
• Utilize your unique skills in ambulatory care nursing practice to enhance patient outcomes.
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans based on current evidence-based practices.
• Administer medications and treatments in compliance with nursing protocols.
• Coordinate and document all aspects of patient care effectively and consistently.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to healthcare team members based on their qualifications and patient care needs.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols diligently.
• Communicate vital patient information to the healthcare team effectively.
• Educate patients and families on self-care tasks necessary post-visit.
• Provide a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
• Act as a role model, mentoring and educating your colleagues.
• Participate in department meetings and ongoing compliance training.
• Ensure efficient and safe use of supplies and maintain a clean environment.
• Engage in your own professional development and continuing education.
• May act as a preceptor or participate in governance activities.
• Adhere to organizational compliance and policies.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

• This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Experience: No previous experience necessary.

In Lieu Of

• A valid RN diploma or certificate with a current RN compact/multistate license is acceptable if you do not hold an ADN.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• Must possess a current RN compact/multistate license or be licensed to practice as an RN in the state of practice.
