Overview
The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician (Nephrologist) .
Responsibilities
- Function as the expert for patient care related to acute, chronic, and end-stage kidney disease, fluid, electrolyte and acid-base disorders.
- Develop treatment plans, including but not limited to dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy).
- Rounding on hospitalized patients, attending in clinics, writing prescription medications, writing for consultative services, diet instruction, and other physician-driven or exclusive decisions.
- Provide evaluations and treatment recommendations, including acute dialysis orders, for hospitalized patients.

- Potential starting base salary range: $250,000 - $400,000 per year

- Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

- Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Night/Weekend/Holiday on-call by rotation.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
