We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Market and Client Risk Management Manager to join our Corporate Trust team. This role is located in New York City, NY.

\n

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    \n
  • Manages a large team of Transaction or Deal Management professionals and directs staff responsible for negotiating, reviewing, analyzing, and executing deal documents or services in transactions in compliance with regulatory guidelines (where applicable), and BNY standards, policies and preferred processes and procedures, and client specifications. Also assures effective legal and operational risk mitigation in all deal transaction documentation matters.

  • Oversees the performance of assigned staff, is an escalation point and Subject Matter Expert for transaction related issues and provides coaching, guidance and feedback.

  • Provides planning for required resources with the next level manager and is responsible for attracting and retaining talent.
  • \n
  • Contributes to/provides guidance as to the implementation of the operating and/or administrative protocols for the Transaction Management activities of the relevant team, while making recommendations for process improvements.
  • \n
  • Uses subject-matter expertise on specific segment and transaction practices and methodologies to direct on resolution of operational and/or transactional issues as required.
  • \n
  • Provides leadership to the relevant team in structuring*and/or negotiating* the terms of the transaction in accordance with product specification and business strategic objectives.
  • \n
  • Ensures negotiations of underlying contract carried out by the team accurately reflect the nature of contracted roles and obligations in line with client and business objectives.
  • \n
  • Provides consistent direction and guidance to the team where required, to ensure that negotiations with lawyers, advisors, clients, market participants on transactions are executed in a manner that manages risk while maximizing revenue in line with business strategic objectives.
  • \n
  • Liaise with internal and external business contacts such as Compliance, Audit, Risk, Legal, Business and Jurisdictional Acceptance Committees, Business Risk Committee and the Default Administration Group, where applicable.
  • \n
  • Reviews escalated issues (which may include matters of a complex legal and/or regulatory nature) and works with BNY businesses and clients to resolve potential issues.

  • Manages a large team of Market/Client Risk professionals and support staff.
  • \n
  • Responsible for the achievement of multiple team goals and objectives, talent management and supervision of team members across one or more products and legal jurisdictions.
  • \n
  • Oversees the transaction management of products within the relevant team associated with a moderately large portion of business unit revenue ($20-$50M) or deal flow of approximately 1,000 transactions annually in an environment of moderate complexity and high inherent risk.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
  • \n
  • 7-10 years of work experience in Deal Management and/or Corporate Trust

\n BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. \n
\n This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
