Systems Engineer Manager to work in Troy, Michigan : In the automotive industry, lead team in the flawless execution of programs including monitoring program status and providing guidance as appropriate to ensure programs meet all deliverables on time with high quality. Review and approve system engineering work products to ensure quality. Develop team, assessing direct reports’ skills, tools in relation to job expectations and plan and coordinate training regimen for direct reports to ensure they have adequate skills/tools to have successful programs. Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports as well as establish goals for department, allocating goals to direct reports and monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment of goals for all associates within the department. Evaluate training gaps for direct reports, jointly develop plan to address gaps, and provide training and mentoring as needed, and ensuring the same is done for the team within the department. Develop and execute jointly with the department leadership a comprehensive vision and strategy to continuously improve program launches while taking into consideration the technical, schedule, and resource constraints by using new tools and technologies. Develop KPIs to measure results of the strategy; gather and track the KPIs, and adjust the strategy as needed to continuously improve capability and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate and approve system specification releases and system test plans. Determine resources, equipment, and investment needed to support anticipated activities. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twelve (12 months) in job or job related experience in the automotive industry, to include all duties listed above.
