Job Description

Clinical Research Assistant II - NICoE This position will support the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), a DoD institute dedicated to evaluating, treating, and researching service members who experience mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and psychological health conditions. The role is located on the Bethesda, MD campus of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Responsibilities Conduct research interviews and collect baseline and follow‑up data from subjects, ensuring data validity and accuracy. Establish and maintain database files and progress reports for studies and projects; may perform data analysis and interpretation. Perform scientific literature searches and retrieve relevant information. Assist in developing and submitting papers and abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations; develop protocol manuals and data collection procedures across sites. Participate in training and field visits; respond to requests from individuals, institutions, government agencies, and assist in designing research studies. Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations, including editing and formatting documents; distribute manuscripts and reports to scientific collaborators. Assist with initiating the multi‑site IRB protocol. Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including required training. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Social Science (e.g., Sociology, Psychology) or related field. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Ability to understand and utilize scientific/medical terminology and research theory in both oral and written communications. Ability to use measurable and verifiable information to make decisions or judgments. Skill in statistical interpretation and data analysis using statistical software, spreadsheets, and database software applications. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Strong patient interaction experience. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance. Physical Capabilities Lifting materials up to 10 lbs. Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in an office setting. Compensation The hourly pay range for this position is $20.99-$28.85. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors.
