Pediatrics Registered Nurse (Peds RN) – Per Diem, 52-Week Assignment

We are seeking an experienced Pediatrics RN for a per diem, 52 week role on our pediatric unit in a family centered, fast paced environment. The Peds RN provides age appropriate nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused pediatric assessments, monitoring vitals, pain, and response to treatment for infants, children, and adolescents.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely using weight based dosing and pediatric best practices.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and discharge care.
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, child life, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Assist with pediatric procedures and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR.
• Promote a child friendly, safe environment that supports developmentally appropriate care and family involvement.

Requirements

• Active RN license (state specific or compact).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatrics RN experience in the same specialty.
• BLS required; PALS required (or ability to obtain per facility policy).
• Strong pediatric assessment, communication, and family centered care skills.
• Comfortable working per diem in a fast paced setting with a diverse pediatric patient population and varying acuity levels.
