We’re seeking a Test Engineer to support the testing, validation, and qualification of electronic hardware for aerospace applications. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on electronics and benchtop testing , with exposure to environmental testing such as thermal vacuum and vibration.

You’ll work directly with flight and proto hardware, laboratory instruments, and test setups to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with aerospace standards. Your work will support advanced spaceflight technologies, including embedded electronics, power systems, monitoring and control hardware, and mission-critical subsystems.

This role is based in Littleton, Colorado , with two open positions available.

Responsibilities

Electronics & Benchtop Testing

  • Perform hands-on benchtop testing of electronic assemblies using laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and function generators .
  • Troubleshoot electronic boards and systems down to the component level to identify root causes of failures.
  • Support debugging activities through structured fault isolation and data-driven analysis.
  • Operate and configure test setups to validate electrical performance and functionality.

Environmental & Qualification Testing

  • Support environmental testing activities, including thermal vacuum (TVAC) and vibration testing .
  • Prepare hardware for test by installing sensors, configuring harnesses, and verifying setup readiness.
  • Assist with vibration testing (sine, random, and shock), including fixture setup, instrumentation, monitoring, and post-test inspections.
  • Verify hardware configuration, safety, and readiness prior to initiating test cycles.

ESD, Safety & Hardware Handling

  • Maintain strict compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control procedures when handling sensitive electronic hardware.
  • Use ESD-safe workstations, grounding methods, and wrist strap verification as part of daily operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to prevent damage during test, handling, and integration activities.

Procedures, Documentation & Quality

  • Execute detailed test procedures accurately and consistently in accordance with approved instructions.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate discrepancies related to unclear, incorrect, or unsafe procedures.
  • Maintain complete and traceable documentation, including test logs, discrepancy reports, and configuration records.
  • Ensure test results meet internal quality standards and aerospace documentation requirements.

Collaboration

  • Perform pre-test inspections and verification checks to ensure hardware readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and program teams during test campaigns.
  • Clearly communicate test results, anomalies, and observations to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience performing electronics benchtop testing using laboratory instruments (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electronic hardware at the board and component level.
  • Experience supporting environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, or environmental stress screening).
  • Strong understanding of ESD control practices and safe handling of sensitive electronics.
  • Experience following detailed test procedures in controlled or regulated environments.
  • High attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in aerospace, space systems, defense, or other highly regulated industries .
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems and discrepancy reporting tools.
  • Experience working in laboratory or environmental test facilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Hourly compensation: $40–$60 per hour , depending on experience.
