\nChildren's Hospital Colorado Location: Anschutz Medical Campus Unit Name: Level 6 – SMSC Surgical Multidisciplinary Specialty Center Position Title: RN Medical - Surgical (Pediatrics) Total # of Unit Beds/Suites/Deliveries: 82 beds (all private) Nurse-Patient Ratio by Shift: 1:3-4 (occasionally 1:2 based on acuity)Nursing ratios are an estimate made in good faith and may vary by department/facility demands This position is IVS to Manager. Please provide your candidates availability so that our IVS Manager can schedule a call and interview. This step is required. The Candidate should expect a phone call from the unit manager Danielle (Dani) , for introductions following the Cross Country interview. Dates: 12/16/25 to 03/21/26 Length of Assignment: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Self-Scheduling: Modified, request process via internal scheduling committee 50-Mile Radius Rule: Applies Floating Requirements: 1st to float to LV7, LV8, LV9, CPCU, NICU & Network of Care Call Requirements: None Weekend Requirement: 16 weekend shifts in a 13-week contract (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Holidays: Must work any holidays as needed for scheduling Prior Travel Experience: Preferred Best fit traveler is someone with an open mind, flexible and positive attitude ready to hit the ground running. Minimum Clinical Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as a Pediatric RN in a large pediatric facility Minimum 2 years in specialty Experience with trach/vent; EVD/lumbar drains; chest tubes; JP drains; central lines; TPN/Lipids; CPM/ortho/halo traction; colostomy/ileostomy/cecostomy/nephrostomy ; TBI/Neuro assessments/seizure management; solid organ transplant (liver/kidney); trauma and rehab (rehab side relocating in December) Certifications Required: BLS Certifications Preferred: BSN Special Equipment: Medfusion & Baxter Sigma IV pumps Kangaroo feeding pumps CADD PCA Ventilators: VocSN (trach vent), plus 3 types available Respiratory support available 24/7 Anesthesia available as needed Unit-Specific Procedures and Protocols: RN starts IVs (team assistance available) Ketamine and heparin drips High-flow weaning (RN responsible) RTO Policy: No RTO approved within the first two weeks of assignment RTO not requested at the time of submission may not be approved. Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Policy: Medical and religious exemption requests allowed for the 2025-2026 season Full exemption form must be included in the submission package Medical and religious exemption requests from the seasonal influenza vaccination are allowed.
